TNPSC Group 4 Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit, Qualification, and Pattern

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced the TNPSC annual planner 2022 that consists of the details of the Group 4 exam date on its website, tnpsc.gov.in. That the exam’s notification is tentatively scheduled to be released in March 2022. The TNPSC has not yet announced the exam date or time. From this year forward, the exam pattern has been revised by the conducting body. The syllabus PDF, along with other exam details, has yet to be uploaded officially.

Eligibility Criteria for TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment 2022


The educational qualification required for the post of Village Administrative Officer, Bachelor Assistant, Draftsman, Land Surveyor, and Tax Collector is must be at least passed class 10 from a recognized board. And for the post of typist, and shorthand typist the candidate should possess the Bachelor's (and/or) Master’s degree in Tamil and English in the Government Technical Typing Examination with a class 10th certificate from a recognized board.


Age Restrictions:

Grama Niladhari

21 to 30 Years (For General or UR) 40 (For Others)

Undergraduate Assistants

18 to 30 Years (For General or UR) 35 (For Others)

All Other Posts

18 to 30 Years


Highlights of the TNPSC Group 4 Exam Pattern:


As part of the selection process, there is only a written exam. The mode of the exam may be offline or online, that's yet to be confirmed by the commission, but previously these exams are conducted in the offline mode only. This exam consists of two papers carrying 300 questions that are valued at a total of 200 marks. And paper 1 is consisting of a Language test and paper 2 is consisting of General Knowledge and Aptitude.

Part-1: Candidates must select a language from Tamil or English for Part I. The Tamil Nadu government, on the other hand, intends to make this paper a qualifying exam in Tamil. The section will include a total of 100 questions.


Part 2: There will be a total of 100 questions from this section. 75 questions will be asked from General Knowledge, and 25 questions will be asked from Aptitude.


Candidates who pass the written exam will be required to take the Certificate Verification round. After all the formalities, the TNPSC will publish the final results on its website and appoint the candidates who meet the cutoff marks.
